WITH DAD 1987 - current
This project is an ancestral visual dialogue which never had a chance to happened in real life.
Some time ago I have come across my father’s photos from Nigeria, where he worked in 1987, shortly before Poland liberated itself from under Communist Block in 1989. Five years after returning from Africa he passed away to a sudden cancer onset. He was only 41 and me only 12.
While going through vintage, framed slides I noticed that mine and his were almost identical in terms of composition, colour, subject. It was comforting to see that same scenes inspired us.
It’s a darkroom-based project where, in a sequence of technical steps I overlay my 6x6 negatives with dad’s 35mm slides.
